i was bored just now, so i went to http://xiaxue.blogspot.com. whoever hasn't heard of it, don't call yourself singaporean. anyway, my verdict: it's -almost- as good as wang's, who really does need a publicity manager by the way... winning that funky blog prize thingy would do great things for posterity. THE POINT: she supposedly wrote an "antichrist" article which i checked out and found to be 100% straightforward and true. but that's not the point. the point, friends, is one of the associated comments that i happened to chance by in her guestbook. "Have you ever wondered what happens after you DIE? Maybe you haven't touched or even SEEN the Bible. Have you read the content of it and realise how REAL it is - how it carefully states what happens in the world. In the Bible, it tells you THE SIGNS OF THE END OF THE AGE. It states: earthquakes, famines, wars, nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom... the tsunami was merely a SIGN OF THE END OF THE AGE. and as for the 2nd tsunami coming up.. how do you know it won't? God makes these things happen for a reason. Science and religion have always clashed together. It came to a point when the Big Bang Theory was almost true. But did you not realise that for the world to even be created.. a very large source of energy had to be present?! And exactly, WHAT is this large source of energy? GOD. Did you also not know that the NEW TESTAMENT OF THE BIBLE is the most reliable source in ALL of ancient history?" oh bravo, mr. christian-in-question! hooray for unwittingly furthering the cause of scientific pursuit! hats off to you! now go fuck yourself. i would feel compelled to elaborate, but then again HOMEWORK'S WAITING. so- fuck homework. Have i ever wondered what happens after i die? sure, everybody wonders what happens after we die... but only those who, in the words on einstein, "feel with their own hearts and see with their own eyes" might draw the conclusion that no-one really knows what happens after they die, 'cept that most likely you vanish into nothingness. If sentient beings like us really do have a soul, the remnant spiritual energy might simply dissipate someplace else. (ff7 version: become one with the lifestream) (starwars version: become one with the force) (whatever. all those are probably more accurate with what comes next) Those misguided by the unqualified assumptions of others; however, would seem to think that their soul lives on, (the idea of how something like that might happen even after the physical being that gave it life is gone escapes me) and they would therefore ascend to heaven (only god knows where the hell THAT might be, so far its never been found. The very concept of heaven is actually a rather nice fairytale to believe in, but with no concrete grounds supporting it i would deem its existence questionable at best. This whole idea of an afterlife, of acension to a totally different realm altogether is nothing but a product of human imagination. It's altogether too human-centric, utterly unbelievable, plus there's NOTHING to substantiate its existence. not to mention that it would break almost every existent law of physics.) And what about the supposed "signs" that point to the apocalyptic end to humankind as we know it? gimme a fucking break. Humans are by nature prone to imperfection, everyone knows that, it's probably the reason why the concept of messiahs and saints were created in the first place. Wars, revolutuions and civil strife are all natural and inevitable outcomes of the development and growth of human civilisation. These are trying times, with mankind still struggling to find its proper sense of self in the universe. Just because every once in a while people don't see eye to eye with each other, and resort to primitive violence to settle their disputes, does not mean that these conflicts would persist right up till the brink of a nuclear holocaust. Even as i speak, even as troops are being killed in iraq and elsewhere, mankind is ever so slowly, but surely, growing, maturing and developing. Gradually, we will come to realise our true role in the universe and realise that acceptance and mutual cooperation would be the only way that we would be able to further our cause. I may sound like an idealist, but hey, i'm not the only one around. If only people were to stop thinking "bloody murder" and "apocalypse" for a second, and start working towards supranational cooperation and harmonious coexistence, then it wouldn't be very unfeasible for such an ideal to be achieved after all. And as for earthquakes, tsunamis and the like... don't even start on it. natural disasters are, well, completely and utterly natural and beyond our control as of yet. They happen whenever, wherever and however they want to happen. It is not our business to be drawing any conclusions about the future of humanity from such completely unrelated phenomena. In fact, if people were to think that natural disasters happening on a sufficiently large scale would spell the end of Life As We Know It, then say, life on earth would have been wiped off the face of the earth about the time of the last ice age. For now, science is the best hope mankind has that might enable it to understand how the world into which we have been brought into being actually functions and why, for it actually has been proven to be accurate and what's more, logical. Proven by credible scientists who actually did their homework (irony unintended), mind you, and not by some pious Idiot who actually thinks that the only logical explanation for the huge amount of energy at the beginning of the universe was that some sort of Higher Being, whom Nobody Really Knows Much About, must have been present. Couldn't there be another, more logical explanation for it? Sure there is... the big bang theory itself. But some people just refuse to follow what their brains ought to be telling them to follow. It's the old Copernican/Galileo hissy all over again. Olde habits die hard, i guess. And did i also not know that the NEW TESTAMENT OF THE BIBLE is the most reliable source in ALL of ancient history????!!!111 No, i fuckin didn't! And do YOU know what the meanings of 'know', 'reliable', 'all' and 'history' are? Bet you don't either. Still, some people might consider it a leap of faith, that in placing complete trust and faith in the religion, and in "heeding the word of God", (when in actual fact its really only their inner voice compelling them to do so. Great way of explaining away everything, ain't it?)said religion might actually point you in the right direction. But why are they even endorsing this unqualified bullshit in the first place if all the evidence points against it? Its really no different from those people in india who feed their children to crocodiles whom they believe to be river-gods. Such a pity, isn't it? Many a christian wholeheartedly feeds his mind, body and spirit into the blind devotion of a faith that has not been proven valid even to the slightest degree. i say: what an utter WASTE of a precious life. Why not go expend your energies on something far more useful and worthy of a human being: get an education and devote those energies hitherto spent on chasing empty dreams to actually contributing something of value to the human society that would actually BENEFIT those that would come after you! Scientists devote themselves to uncovering the absolute truth that would describe how our universe functions. They are but one of the few useful cogs in the entire suspension train of human society. All their life's efforts have been spent not so much for their own materialistic benefit, but more towards leading humankind of the future towards the one eternal Truth... Aesthetics contribute by guiding mankind in the search for true beauty in life, and even politicians contribute in their own right, slowly but surely taking steps towards the formation of a truly global governmental organisation, a "supranational organisation" as einstein called it, helping to shape the world into a better, more peaceful and idyllic place for all the people of the world in time to come. Truth, Beauty and Peace... aren't these much more noble ideals to work towards as opposed to the selfish, personal ideal of a "salvation" that might not even exist? I appeal to all followers of a religion that has proven itself to be completely and utterly irrelevant in the humanitarian context: For HUMANITY'S sake, please, stop throwing your lives away seeking salavation that might never ever come to you. Only a life lived for others is a life worth living. If not for the people of today, think about the people of a perfect tomorrow who would be able to revel in truth, goodness and beauty... kudos to those who had come before them and left their legacy in the eternal annals of mankind. Think about... Utopia. 'IMAGINE' John Lennon Imagine there's no heaven It's easy if you try No hell below us Above us only sky Imagine all the people Living for today... Imagine there's no countries It isn't hard to do Nothing to kill or die for And no religion too Imagine all the people Living life in peace... You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will be as one Imagine no possessions I wonder if you can No need for greed or hunger A brotherhood of man Imagine all the people Sharing all the world... You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will live as one

homework is killing me. despite the fact that i have yet to start on it. but that's already beside the point. well, after extensive thought, i have decided to give the recently reworded "multiverse in 6 dimensions" a permanent place on my blog! and why? one, because i've spent so much time on it that i now consider it a part of me. and two, because it looks cool there. oh for your information, article 7 IS completed. just that asknlearn being particularly uncooperative right now. will upload soon as is humanly possible. listening to music by bob seger & the silver bullet. good! homework. oh the terror. oh FUCK IT ALREADY! goodbye.

The Universe In 6 Dimensions alwyn's intellectual property for public browsing! so here's some food for thought for anyone out there interested in the stuff that i do in my free time. otherwise known as "all the physics shid" by some. it might take a while to get through, though, i admit i'm not a very good writer when it comes to theoretical papers. anyhow, if you read it and like it, please let me know. otherwise, just keep really quiet and let me finish my 7th article on the topic. and please, piracy is a crime. Be HIP! honour intellectual property! and no one will get hurt!! oh. for starters, here's something on relativity that should get you going, once again courtesy of yours truly. On Time yawn. shit commonwealth essay die die. *edit: changed the link to the document... after i took out the first article which was basically something i wrote in sec1 before i knew there was such a thing as special relativity. damn you einstein. |
